IIT Kanpur to conduct JEE Advanced 2018 on this date
The Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018, which is scheduled to be held on May 21, will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur.
The Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018, which is scheduled to be held on May 21, will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. IIT Madras conducted the exam last year on May 21. The JEE-Mains is the entrance examination for admission to engineering courses offered across the country and a qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced which is required for admission to the IITs and NITs.
According to Amar Ujala, the JEE cell at IIT Kanpur is in the process of finalising the events required for conducting the examination.
Exam to go online from next year
Also, in order to make logistics and evaluation process less complicated for all, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) which is the policy-making body on IIT admissions, has decided to make the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) completely online.

“In order to make logistics and evaluations easier it was decided today that the JEE-Advanced should be made online,” a JAB member told PTI. “The concept was being discussed for many years, but it was necessary to have adequate infrastructure to conduct the exam online,” the member added.
Now, instead of using pen and paper, students will take up the examination at designated centres where they need to answer the questions on a computer. As of now, optical mark reading (OMR) sheets are used which need to be filled using pen or pencils and are evaluated by machines
